What Are the Libs Up to Now?
The Dems are really showing who they are on the inside and it’s not pretty.
What a deal for Democrats: They get to hold the economy for ransom, and the media blithely cover for them.
On Thursday, Senate Democrats nixed a simple but urgent request to boost cash in the emergency small business loan program Congress set up this month from $350 billion to $600 billion.
Treasury Secretary Steve Mnuchin requested the cash because funds are running low, just weeks after the program launched.
“Everything is an opportunity,” explained House Speaker Nancy Pelosi. Democrats, she said, will use talks over more loan funds as a way to address “disparities” in America.
And if they don’t get their way, no one gets a dime more. Never mind that businesses face bankruptcy or that 17 million people filed for jobless benefits in recent weeks.
Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell pleaded for action: “I am literally talking about deleting the number 350 and writing 600 in its place.” That’s it. “Please do not block emergency aid you do not oppose just because you want something more.”
The Trump Agenda
President Trump’s re-election campaign released a new ad on Thursday attacking former Vice President Joe Biden for his past support of China.
“During America’s crisis, Biden protected China’s feelings,” the text of the ad reads.
The ad features Biden’s past positive comments about China, as more Americans suffer from the coronavirus that first came from China.
“It is in our self-interest that China continue to prosper,” Biden says in the ad.
The ad also features Biden toasting Xi Jinping at dinner and questions on Biden’s son Hunter’s investments in China.
Dr. Anthony Fauci also has a cameo in the campaign ad, praising the president enacting the China travel ban to help fight the virus.
This campaign will be one for the history books!
As the nation is facing an increasingly dire economic situation along with climbing unemployment numbers, Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin gave Americans some much-needed positive news on Thursday. In an appearance on CNBC, he indicated that the economy could reopen in May.
When host Jim Cramer asked the Secretary if he believed the U.S. could open the economy next month, Mnuchin replied: “I do.” He continued, “I think as soon as the President feels comfortable with the medical issues, we are making everything necessary that American companies and American workers can be open for business and that they have the liquidity to operate their business in the interim.”
The challenge for the White House is balancing the needs of the economy with medical concerns over the spread of the virus.
Health experts have warned that reopening business too early might cause another spike in deaths. They suggest that the United States should only restart its economy when there is a sustained decline in coronavirus cases to ensure that hospitals will not become overwhelmed.
So far, Trump has listened to the medical experts, but he has also indicated that the U.S. shouldn’t allow “the cure to be worse than the problem.” On Wednesday, he told reporters that “we have to be on that downside of that slope and heading to a very strong direction that this thing is gone. We could do it in phases.”
Hmm, That Makes Your Think
Well…that’s one way to ‘quarantine.’
Sex robot giant RealDoll has given Instagram followers a fascinating look at the AI brain of one of its flagship dolls, as scores of customers turn to silicone girlfriends during the coronavirus crisis.
A statement read: “Self isolating doesn’t have to be the worst.
“All RealDolls are made from Platinum Grade Silicone and are naturally antibacterial and nonporous.”
“It’s crazy how realistic they look, there’s no way most people would realize just from looking at a photo that it was a doll, in my opinion.”
“When you’re looking at a photograph it’s indistinguishable, but when you see it in real life, human instincts kick in and you sense something is not quite right.
“I’ve heard numerous stories of people having friends over who initially say hello to their friend’s dolls before realizing a few seconds later they not alive.”
