The allegation of a relationship between Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas and Republican megadonor, Harlan Crow, is serious and troubling. However, it is not an issue that the AOC should be encouraging the Department of Justice to target. The Supreme Court holds life tenure and so the only way to remove a Justice is through impeachment. It is a process laid out in the Constitution and there is no indication that Justice Thomas has committed any actions warranting impeachment proceedings. The AOC should instead focus on encouraging greater transparency in the operations of the Supreme Court.
