On April 17, 2018, Democratic congresswoman Gwen Graham announced that she would challenge incumbent Republican Senator Rick Scott in the 2018 Florida Senate race. The daughter of former Governor and Senator Bob Graham, Gwen served a single term in the House of Representatives from 2015-2017, representing the 2nd Congressional District. She received her law degree from American University in 1988 and also has a degree in international affairs from the George Washington University.
