NFL and Mythical Games Unveil NFL Rivals: The First Web3-Powered NFL Game

The National Football League (NFL) and Mythical Games have announced NFL Rivals, the first web3-powered NFL-licensed game. The game combines interactive card-collecting and tens of thousands of gridiron challenges with non-fungible tokens and blockchain-backed rewards.

NFL Rivals offers four game modes: Draft Challenge, Rush & Pass, Lineup Challenge and Head-to-Head. Players can collect and customize legendary and current NFL players, assemble teams, play for rewards and prove their football acumen.

In addition, NFL Rivals features deeper integration with blockchain-enabled technology, allowing players to accumulate digital assets over time. These assets can range from non-fungible tokens (NFTs) representing current and legendary NFL players to digital trading cards, and even tangible rewards such as autographed memorabilia from past NFL players.

Combining physical and digital asset classes in one unified game creates powerful player loyalty strategies. As players progress in NFL Rivals, they can also monetize their collections of digital assets through digital marketplaces. The digital marketplaces provide a secure, trustless platform for players to buy, sell, trade and hold their digital assets with confidence.

“We’re thrilled to partner with Mythical Games to bring fans the first NFL-licensed web3 game that combines the best of blockchain-based gaming, card collecting and football challenges,” said Christian Anderson, VP of Consumer Products at the NFL. “NFL Rivals will offer fans a chance to experience the best of the NFL, regardless of their level of skill, in an innovative way.”

By leveraging blockchain and digital asset technologies, NFL Rivals provides an engaging and immersive experience for NFL fans around the world. NFL Rivals unleashes the crypto power of the NFL, offering an alternate way for fans to enjoy the sport, collect digital assets, and compete with each other. It’s another way to experience the pride, passion, and pageantry of the NFL.
