On Jan. 6, a former Virginia school board candidate, Robert Coursey, was accused of attacking officers at the U.S. Capitol during a pro-Donald Trump rally. He faces charges of assault on a federal officer with a dangerous weapon, knowingly entering or remaining in any restricted building or grounds without lawful authority, and civil disturbance. Officers reportedly used chemical agents to disperse the crowd, while Coursey allegedly threw a blue PVC pipe and a wood board at officers. Coursey has denied the allegations and is currently in police custody.
