A survey conducted by South Korea’s National Statistical Office has found that more than 80% of South Koreans view cryptocurrencies such as Bitcoin as a form of gambling. The survey involved 4,500 people aged 18 and over. Of those surveyed, 83.3% saw cryptocurrencies as gambling. Only 13.7% saw them as a form of investment. The survey also found that only 9.7% of respondents had ever invested in cryptocurrencies. The findings reflect concerns in South Korea about the speculative nature of cryptocurrency trading, which has seen the country impose regulations on the sector.
