Trump files motion to recuse DC judge presiding over 2020 election interference case

On November 25, 2020, the Trump campaign filed a motion to recuse the Washington, D.C., district court judge overseeing the government’s criminal case against a Russian national accused of conspiring to interfere in the 2020 election. According to the motion, Judge Dabney L. Friedrich compromised the appearance of fairness and impartiality by making comments “indicative of bias” in a pretrial hearing. The judge has not yet issued a ruling on the motion.
