Although the rollout of Covid booster shots for younger children has begun in many countries, access is still limited due to a shortage of doses. Parents of young children have reported that it is often difficult to find vaccines available for them, as demand for the booster shots outstrips supply. Many countries have prioritized adults who have already been vaccinated, as well as those at highest risk for severe illness from the virus. As of June 2021, there is no indication from vaccine producers that they expect to increase production of pediatric boosters in the near future.
