United Airlines tweaks frequent flyer program to reward credit card spending

United Airlines has announced changes to its frequent flyer program, MileagePlus, to reward customers for using the airline’s co-branded credit cards. The changes include awarding bonus points when customers use the cards to buy tickets, and offering discounts on in-flight purchases made with the cards. The changes come as airlines struggle to generate revenue in an increasingly competitive market, with customers continually seeking out the best deals.
