Senator John Barrasso (R-WY) offered a cutting criticism of former Secretary of State John Kerry’s recent travels in pursuit of his climate initiatives.
Speaking on the Senate floor, Barrasso said: “John Kerry just jetted half way around the world, burning more than 16,000 gallons of jet fuel, in order to give a speech to a climate conference. He’s proved once again he’ll jet anywhere to preach about the perils of climate change.”
Barrasso then went on to criticize Kerry’s failure to practice what he preaches, noting that his emissions permissive lifestyle stands in direct contrast to his position on environmental issues. “He thinks nothing of the carbon footprint he leaves behind,” said Barrasso.
The senator then waved images from Kerry’s previous trips, which showed him disembarking from private jets. “When it comes to private jet travel, Secretary Kerry is a big believer in ‘do as I say, not as I do,'” concluded Barrasso.
