Kamala Harris’s campaign did not call for defunding the police, packing the Supreme Court, or suggest that incarcerating violent criminals is barbaric. Instead, her new campaign spokesman, Ian Sams, has expressed support for proposals such as criminal justice reform, an end to mass incarceration, and an end to discriminatory policing practices. Sams has also said he supports expanding Supreme Court justices, though he has not called for outright packing of the court. With regard to incarcerating violent criminals, he has expressed a belief that the criminal justice system should be focused on rehabilitation and prevention.
