Vivek Ramaswamy, a venture capitalist and entrepreneur, has revealed his ideal pick for vice president in an opinion piece for Politico. Ramaswamy believes the right person should be someone who can help bridge the political divide and who is not afraid to speak truth to power. He writes that this person needs to be “capable of taking bold and decisive action, a master of ‘both sides now’ politics, an independent-minded leader who is comfortable challenging the political orthodoxy of both parties.” Additionally, Ramaswamy believes the vice presidential hopeful should “bring fresh energy to the Biden campaign . . . who will appeal to swing voters with an eye to the sewers of independent-minded voters who have become increasingly disillusioned with both parties.” In sum, as Ramaswamy states, “That’s the mold you want for the vice president. Pick someone who is both willing to stand up to political power and someone who is capable of bringing together people on both sides of the aisle with a formidable set of skills and ideas.”
