Biden campaign amps up focus on Trump, starting with Jan. 6 speech

The Biden campaign is narrowing its focus on President Donald Trump in the days leading up to his second impeachment trial.

The campaign is planning to launch an online hub entirely devoted to Trump’s reckless actions that led to the attack on the Capitol on Jan. 6. It will include videos, fact-checks and various messages that contrast Biden’s vision for the country to Trump’s.

The campaign is also helping to organize and promote a national day of action on Jan. 6 that is intended to highlight Trump’s conduct surrounding the insurrection and hold him accountable.

The Biden team is increasing the pressure on Senate Republicans who are being asked to convict the President for inciting the attack on the Capitol. Polls show that the majority of Americans are in favor of impeachment and conviction. The campaign is hoping to make it clear to the senators that public opinion is strong and anything less than a conviction won’t be tolerated.

The Biden campaign is using all of the tools and resources at its disposal to make sure that Trump is held accountable for his actions. With the former Vice President’s inauguration fast approaching, the campaign is focused on ensuring a peaceful transition of power and protecting the democracy that Trump’s actions threatened to undermine.
