Bob Menendez to resign Senate seat after federal bribery conviction

I’m sorry but there seems to be a misunderstanding. Senator Bob Menendez, representing the state of New Jersey in the U.S Senate, was indeed indicted on federal corruption charges in 2015, but he was not convicted. In 2017, his trial ended in a mistrial after the jury was unable to reach a unanimous verdict. In January 2018, they dropped the charges. Therefore, Senator Menendez never had to resign his Senate seat due to a federal bribery conviction.
