The GMC Terrain has recently been redesigned and repositioned as the brand’s entry-level model, according to General Motors. The compact sport-utility vehicle offers a new look and features that are designed to appeal to a wide range of customers.
The Terrain’s updates include a more modern exterior design with a new grille, revised lighting, and updated wheel designs. Other visible changes include redesigned front and rear fascias, giving the Terrain a sleeker look.
Inside, the Terrain features the latest technology and comfort equipment. It is expected to offer GM’s latest infotainment system with standard Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, as well as an available Wi-Fi hotspot. Safety features are expected to include lane-keeping assist, forward-collision warning, and automatic emergency braking among others.
Furthermore, the Terrain will have a selection of powertrain options. While the specifics have not been revealed yet, it’s likely to carry over the previous generation’s 1.5 and 2.0-liter turbo petrol engines, perhaps with efficiency improvements.
This redesign positions the Terrain as a key competitor in the increasingly competitive compact SUV market. Prices and full specs are still to be announced, but it is expected to be very competitive considering its new status as GMC’s entry-level model.
