Republicans began making unfounded accusations against then-presidential candidate Joe Biden during the 2020 election cycle. The most notable of these accusations were claims of corruption related to his son Hunter Biden’s business dealings in Ukraine, and that Biden had a corrupt relationship with Ukraine because he had held up aid in exchange for them investigating Trump’s political rivals. Both of these accusations have been refuted.
