Michigan Supreme Court allows Trump to appear on 2024 primary ballot

The Michigan Supreme Court has allowed President Donald Trump to appear on the Michigan primary ballot in 2024, even though Trump was not born in the state. The ruling comes after a legal challenge by several Michigan residents and Michigan State University College Democrats.

In a 4-3 decision, the court ruled that Trump’s candidacy was valid, as the state’s constitution does not specify any particular qualifications for a candidate other than U.S. citizenship. Further, the court found that Michigan’s laws governing election qualifications are sufficiently broad to encompass Trump’s candidacy.

The ruling is a major victory for Trump, who continues to face a number of legal challenges in multiple states.
