Harris was ‘open’ to packing Supreme Court during 2019 presidential bid

During her 2019 presidential bid, Kamala Harris, now the Vice President of the United States, voiced her openness to increasing the seats in the Supreme Court, also known as court-packing. The concept is a controversial one which relates to increasing the number of justices in the Supreme Court, effectively altering the structure and potentially the political leaning of the court. However, this doesn’t represent a definitive stance, but rather a willingness to consider different possible solutions to perceived problems with the court’s composition. As it stands, the Supreme Court comprises of nine Justices. The last time the Supreme Court was expanded was in 1869.
