CrowdStrike stock prediction: $439.39 bull, $216.93 bear

CrowdStrike is not being rerated by a Wednesday headline. The Nasdaq official close on 21 October 2026 was $239.34, up $11.97, or 5.26 percent, from Tuesday’s $227.37. Carry the last 90 daily log-returns across 49 sessions through 31 December and the bull is $439.39, the base is $287.69 and the bear is $216.93. The $359 bull and the $118 bear on the 5 October FinanceFeeds page were annual-recurring-revenue multiples on the 2 October close of $270.04. They are a different model on an older close. S&P Global, on the StockAnalysis page fetched 22 October, still shows an average target of $246.15, only $6.81 above this close. What that sheet misses is the position of the print: $17.16 under the 20-day average of $256.50, 2.35 percent above the 50-day average of $233.84, and still inside the prior five sessions’ range of $221.36 to $256.07.

The base of $287.69 sits $0.70 above the $286.99 intraday high on 6 October. Most of the drift that puts it there is the 27 August gap, not the PHP2Shell note or the NVIDIA line that crossed the tape on Wednesday.

Key facts

  • Wednesday 21 October 2026 official close $239.34, up $11.97, or 5.26 percent, from Tuesday’s $227.37. Open $230.89, high $242.90, low $228.70, volume 9,396,652. Source: Nasdaq historical prices, file saved 22 October 2026.
  • The 20-day average is $256.50. Wednesday finished $17.16, or 6.69 percent, under it. The 50-day average is $233.84, so the close is 2.35 percent above it. The 14 to 20 October range was $221.36 to $256.07, and Wednesday’s high of $242.90 did not clear it. Same Nasdaq file.
  • Bull $439.39, base $287.69, bear $216.93. Mean log-return mu is 0.00375531 and sample standard deviation sigma is 0.04033358 on the last 90 daily log-returns. N is 49 sessions through 31 December 2026. FinanceFeeds calculation on the saved Nasdaq file, 22 October 2026.
  • Q2 fiscal 2027 revenue was $1.47 billion, up 26 percent. Subscription revenue was $1.40 billion, up 27 percent. ARR was $5.84 billion at 31 July 2026, up 25 percent, including net new ARR of $332.8 million, up 51 percent year over year. Source: Exhibit 99.1, 26 August 2026.
  • Fiscal 2027 ending ARR guide is $6,603.0 million to $6,611.9 million. The quarter ending 31 October 2026 is guided to ending ARR of $6,184.4 million to $6,188.4 million and revenue of $1,523.2 million to $1,529.2 million. Same exhibit.
  • Cash was $5,013.8 million and long-term debt was $746.2 million at 31 July 2026, so net cash was $4,267.6 million. George Kurtz sold 20,000 Class A shares on 19 and 20 October for $4,557,950.80 under a 10b5-1 plan adopted 16 January 2026. Source: Form 4 filed 21 October 2026.
  • S&P Global via StockAnalysis, fetched 22 October 2026: Buy, average $246.15, low $132, high $325, 53 analysts, with 30 strong buy, 10 buy, 12 hold and 1 sell in October. Nasdaq quote field the same morning: 52-week range $85.68 to $286.99. Lowest daily close in the file: $87.56 on 24 February 2026.

What just happened, and why the obvious reading is wrong

The obvious reading is that a patch day and a partner line repriced the stock. Both were disclosures, not a shipped fix. CrowdStrike’s 21 October post calls CVE-2026-109618 and CVE-2026-109619 PHP2Shell. Ars Technica reported the same day that PHP maintainers planned emergency patches, both rated 9.2, and that the release was not yet out. The company account said Falcon Guardian is being integrated with NVIDIA OpenShell, announced at GTC Berlin.

The tape does not show a new leg. From the 6 October close of $278.86, Wednesday is still down $39.52, or 14.17 percent, and 16.6 percent under that day’s $286.99 intraday high. Volume of 9,396,652 was under the 13,859,680 shares on 16 October, when the close fell from $244.57 to $227.39. The street average of $246.15 is only $6.81 above $239.34, while the 6 October close was $32.71 above that average. FinanceFeeds already recorded the run that stalled after $286.99.

Nasdaq official daily closes for CRWD through Wednesday 21 October 2026. The 20-day and 50-day lines are simple moving averages of that file. Bull, base and bear are the 49-session volatility path from the Wednesday close. FinanceFeeds chart, 22 October 2026.

Who is on the other side of the trade

CrowdStrike’s 21 October research post names the victims, not a vague cyber budget. A Spanish and English speaking operator hit at least 15 Argentina-based healthcare entities and took credentials and medical records from at least one. A Chinese-speaking operator had more than 20 named targets, compromised government entities in two countries, and went after firms in Brazil and the United States. An Indonesian-speaking operator ran 819 skills and still had to intervene when the model stalled. At moderate confidence, the post says agentic AI commoditizes baseline offensive work and can reach an objective, often within an hour.

The August exhibit names a different book: Amazon Web Services, Cerebras, Schwarz Digits, XM Cyber, and gateway partners that include Databricks, Google Cloud and Microsoft Azure. Module adoption at 31 July 2026 was 51 percent, 35 percent and 26 percent on six, seven and eight or more modules. Falcon Flex ending ARR had passed $2.29 billion, up 101 percent.

After the sale, the Form 4 shows George Kurtz with 7,421,504 Class A shares owned directly, and 400,000 shares of which he disclaims beneficial ownership except for his pecuniary interest. The direct stub is about $1.78 billion at $239.34, and the sale was 0.27 percent of it. The issuer address is 206 E. 9th Street, Suite 1400, Austin. The photograph here is 150 Mathilda Place in Sunnyvale, the former headquarters and now the Silicon Valley branch, taken 19 October 2024, not the Austin office. IonQ’s stock deal for Elisity is a separate FinanceFeeds note, and it is not an input here.

What the closes and the primary documents show

The comparison that matters is Wednesday against the averages, the October high, the street sheet, and the older FinanceFeeds pair.

Item Figure What it is
Wednesday close $239.34 Nasdaq official close, 21 October 2026. Formula spot.
6 October close and high $278.86 and $286.99 File high. Wednesday is 14.17 percent under the close.
20-day and 50-day averages $256.50 and $233.84 6.69 percent under the 20-day, 2.35 percent above the 50-day.
Prior five sessions $256.07 to $221.36 14 to 20 October. Wednesday’s $228.70 to $242.90 sits inside.
27 August close $227.96 from $189.18 Largest log-return in the 90, about 4.5 sigma above mu.
16 October close $227.39 from $244.57 Largest down log-return. About 7.0 percent.
Street average, high, low $246.15, $325, $132 S&P Global, 53 analysts, fetched 22 October.
This bull, base, bear $439.39, $287.69, $216.93 Volatility path, N of 49.
5 October pair $359, $238, $118 ARR multiples on the $270.04 close. Different model.
FY27 ending ARR guide $6,603.0 to $6,611.9 million Net new ARR growth raised 630 basis points, to 34 percent at the midpoint.

The street high of $325 is $114.39 under this bull. The street low of $132 is $84.93 under this bear. The 5 October piece used 56, 37 and 18 times on ARR plus net cash, divided by 1,044 million shares. June-quarter GAAP net income was $5.3 million, or $0.01. Non-GAAP net income was $322.9 million. Free cash flow was $377.4 million.

What Kurtz, Podbere and Huang have actually said

George Kurtz, founder and chief executive, said in the 26 August exhibit: “Q2 was the best quarter in CrowdStrike’s history.” Burt Podbere, chief financial officer, said in the same exhibit: “Q2 was a record-breaking quarter. We achieved record net new ARR of $333 million alongside record net new ARR from new logos, increased dollar-based gross and net retention rates, and Q2 record cash flow from operations and free cash flow.” He tied the 34 percent midpoint to “our strong Q2 results and record Q3 pipeline.” Neither line is a price target. Both describe the quarter that ended 31 July.

On 15 October Kurtz wrote that the adversary CrowdStrike calls FAMOUS CHOLLIMA does not break in. “They don’t break in. They get hired. AI writes the resumes, fakes the faces and feeds them answers in the interview, so one operator can pass as several applicants.” He added: “AI makes that rebuild faster, and that’s why cybersecurity has to be faster.” The post is about a hiring-fraud campaign and an FBI action, not about Wednesday’s close.

Jensen Huang, founder and chief executive of NVIDIA, wrote on 28 September: “Today, with over 100 industry partners, we introduced the NVIDIA Open Agent Safety Platform, bringing together OpenShell and Sentry.” The same post says the full promise can be realized only when people have confidence that AI “is being built to be safe and deployed with wisdom and responsibility.” Bartley Richardson’s 28 September CrowdStrike post calls the platform an open reference design and says the question is no longer whether enterprises will adopt agents. It is how they give agents greater autonomy without giving up control. Wednesday’s Berlin line did not invent that September platform.

Amit Serper’s PHP post calls core PHP “the underlying engine powering a vast portion of the web” and says Falcon “provides out-of-the-box visibility and detection coverage for post-exploitation activities of both vulnerabilities.” Ars Technica quoted the advisory: “All PHP users are encouraged to prepare now so they can upgrade as soon as the release is available.” No fetched page raises the ARR band for PHP2Shell or for Berlin.

FinanceFeeds has already written up the September session in which Kurtz’s comments sat against a chip selloff. The closes used here are Wednesday’s completed print. A premarket number on Thursday is a different clock, and it is not in the formula.

The sale plan, the July 19 line, and the guide

The Form 4 accepted at 20:00:06 on 21 October covers thirteen sale lots on 19 and 20 October, 20,000 Class A shares, weighted average $227.90, proceeds $4,557,950.80. Footnote one says the shares were sold under a 10b5-1 plan adopted on 16 January 2026. The sales finished before the $239.34 close, at prices below it. A January plan is not a vote on Wednesday’s NVIDIA post, and it is not a buy.

The 26 August outlook excludes from non-GAAP guidance the stock-based pay, amortization, acquisition items, debt-issuance costs, legal reserve and settlement charges, and “costs (recoveries) associated with the July 19 Incident and related matters, net.” The safe harbor names the 19 July 2024 content update that crashed certain Windows systems. No fetched page puts a remaining dollar figure on that item. GAAP operating income was still a $33.2 million loss in the quarter management called its best. Net cash of $4,267.6 million is about $4.09 a share on 1,044 million diluted shares. Deferred revenue was $3,497.1 million current and $1,345.1 million noncurrent. The bull here is the hot mean, not the cash add-on.

The blog index lists an NCSC CIR enhanced-level note dated 20 October. The body was not fetched, so it is not quoted. The two PHP CVEs are a defender’s workload, not a new share issue or a new debt line. Long-term debt was $746.2 million. The 21 October Form 4 and the 26 August 8-K show no new issuance.

Bull, base and bear

The title numbers are the distribution, not a broker target and not the September multiple case. Log-return is the natural log of close today divided by close yesterday. Mu is the arithmetic mean of the last 90, 0.00375531. Sigma is the sample standard deviation, dividing the squared deviations by 89. Sigma is 0.04033358. N is 49. The square root of 49 is 7. The 90 returns end on 21 October 2026.

Why 49. The cited close is Wednesday 21 October, and the saved file has no completed Thursday bar. From 22 October through 31 December the weekday count is 49 after dropping Thanksgiving, 26 November, and Christmas, 25 December. The pieces are 22, 23, 26, 27, 28, 29 and 30 October (7), the November weekdays with 27 November counted and 26 November out (20), and the December weekdays with 24 December counted and 25 December out (22). Seven plus 20 plus 22 is 49. Early closes on 27 November and 24 December still count. If a completed Thursday 22 October bar appears later, N becomes 48 and these prices are stale.

Base equals the spot times e to the power of N times mu. That is $239.34 times e to the power of 0.184010, which is $239.34 times 1.202028, which rounds to $287.69. Bull equals the spot times e to the power of N times mu plus 1.5 times sigma times the square root of N. The extra term is 0.423503. The exponent is 0.607513. The price rounds to $439.39. Bear equals the spot times e to the power of N times mu minus one times sigma times the square root of N. The subtracted term is 0.282335. The exponent is negative 0.098325. The price rounds to $216.93. Bull is above the spot and bear is below it. Drift is positive, so the no-drift fallback is not used. The rounded pair is not within $1 of $359 and $118, or of $312 and $139.

The 27 August log-return is 0.18647, from $189.18 to $227.96, about 4.5 sample standard deviations above mu. The largest decline is 16 October, negative 0.07283. August stays in the sample. That is why the bull sits far above the street high of $325, and why the base inherits the gap. The street average of $246.15 is $41.54 under the base.

Case Price Versus the $239.34 close What has to be true
Bull $439.39 +83.5 percent The 90-day mean compounds for 49 sessions and the path finishes 1.5 standard deviations above it. August’s gap is not faded.
Base $287.69 +20.2 percent Drift only. $0.70 above the $286.99 high, and $41.54 above the $246.15 street average.
Bear $216.93 minus 9.4 percent Same drift, minus one standard deviation. About 24.4 percent under the $286.99 high.

The base has to clear $256.50, then $256.07, then $278.86, then $286.99, on drift alone. No filing between 26 August and this close raises ARR.

What happens next

The guided quarter ends on 31 October 2026. The last October session inside the 49 is 30 October. If the later report prints ending ARR inside $6,184.4 million to $6,188.4 million, the July pipeline claim is intact. If it prints outside that band, the mean, which is mostly the 27 August gap, is the wrong prior. The fetched 8-K does not name the report date, and this note does not invent one.

By 31 December 2026 the base is a retest. $287.69 is $0.70 over the 6 October intraday high and $8.83 over the $278.86 close. Getting there means taking back the entire loss from that close and a little more, at a daily log-return that includes a 20.5 percent up day. A path that merely stops falling does not deliver e to the power of 0.184. The street average can be reached with a $6.81 move and still leave the 20-day average overhead.

The bear is close in percent only if 16 October does not repeat. That day the close fell $17.18. One drop of that size from $239.34 lands near $222, still above $216.93. Two such drops, ignoring drift, land near $205, under the bear. The $132 street low and the old $118 bear are a different model.

This is not financial advice.

Frequently asked questions

Where does Wednesday’s CrowdStrike close put the stock through 31 December 2026?

The volatility formula puts the bull at $439.39, the base at $287.69 and the bear at $216.93. They use the $239.34 Nasdaq close on 21 October 2026, the last 90 daily log-returns, and 49 sessions through 31 December. The bull is 83.5 percent above the close. The bear is 9.4 percent below it. The base is 20.2 percent above it.

Is the $439.39 bull a price target from an analyst?

No. It is 1.5 standard deviations above the drift path on this close. StockAnalysis, citing S&P Global on 22 October, shows a high of $325, an average of $246.15 and a low of $132 across 53 analysts. The high is $114.39 under this bull. The average is $6.81 above Wednesday’s close. A Buy stamp and a $439 math price are different objects.

What happened to the $359 bull and the $118 bear?

They were a multiple model, not this formula. The 5 October page used the 2 October close of $270.04, an ARR midpoint, net cash and 1,044 million shares, at 56 times for $359, 37 times for $238 and 18 times for $118. The new pair is the 90-day log-return distribution over 49 sessions. Same company, different close, different arithmetic.

Did George Kurtz sell into the Wednesday rally?

No. The Form 4 filed 21 October reports 20,000 Class A shares sold on 19 and 20 October, before the $239.34 close, at a weighted average of $227.90, for $4,557,950.80. The sales were under a 10b5-1 plan adopted on 16 January 2026. The direct holding afterward is 7,421,504 shares. The plan predates PHP2Shell and the Berlin note.

What company number can break this path?

The quarter ends 31 October 2026. Exhibit 99.1 guides ending ARR at $6,184.4 million to $6,188.4 million and revenue at $1,523.2 million to $1,529.2 million. A print inside the band leaves the July pipeline claim intact. A print outside it means the drift, dominated by the 27 August gap, is a poor prior. The fetched 8-K does not set the report date.

Does the bear mean the stock only falls about 9 percent?

From Wednesday’s close, on a one-sigma path after the drift, yes: $216.93 is 9.4 percent under $239.34. From the 6 October high of $286.99, the same bear is about 24.4 percent lower. The positive mean is why the bear sits near the spot. It is not the $132 low on the street sheet.
