Nvidia (NVDA) Stock: $216 After SpaceX’s $40 Billion…

Updated 27 October 2026. Nvidia (NASDAQ: NVDA) closed Monday at $216.00, up $5.04 or 2.39 percent, in a range of $212.61 to $217.75, and traded at $217.70 in premarket trading at 9:10 am ET on Tuesday (Yahoo Finance). Verdict: a rebound, not a new trend. The stock bounced from Friday’s $210.96 close, its lowest in 20 sessions (FX Leaders), as Anthropic’s IPO filing revived the AI trade and SpaceX said it had closed a $40 billion debt package reported to fund Nvidia GPUs. It is still about 10 percent below the $239.24 record close of 6 October. Reference levels: $190 below, $243 above.

Key facts

  • Price: NVDA $216.00 at Monday 26 October’s close, up 2.39 percent from $210.96; day range $212.61-$217.75 (Yahoo Finance; Google Finance). Premarket on Tuesday: $217.70 at 9:10 am ET, up about 0.8 percent (Yahoo Finance).
  • Where it stands: the record close was $239.24 on 6 October and the intraday record $243.37 the same day; the 52-week low is $164.27 (Yahoo Finance; Google Finance). Market value is about $5.2 trillion at about 27 times trailing earnings (Yahoo Finance).
  • Monday’s driver: chip stocks rallied after Anthropic filed for its IPO; Nvidia rose 2.4 percent, Micron 3 percent, Broadcom 2.3 percent and AMD 2.8 percent (AP via KTAR; FinanceFeeds).
  • SpaceX: Elon Musk said on 25 October that SpaceX had closed about $40 billion of mostly callable debt for GPUs due in the first half of 2027, held in a special purpose vehicle. The Financial Times first reported on 6 October that the Apollo-led financing was meant to buy Nvidia chips; Musk’s post did not name the supplier (FinanceFeeds; Reuters).
  • Meta’s book: Nvidia, AMD and Broadcom indicated non-binding interest in buying up to $5.0 billion of Meta’s common stock in aggregate. Meta priced the deal on 27 October: $25.0 billion of common stock at $625, upsized, plus $12.5 billion of mandatory convertible preferred (Meta press releases).
  • Analysts: Morgan Stanley’s Joseph Moore reinstated Nvidia as the firm’s top semiconductor pick on 2 October, Overweight with a $300 target (TheStreet; Yahoo Finance). StockAnalysis puts the average 12-month target of 62 analysts at $328.95, rated Strong Buy.
  • Next print: fiscal third-quarter results are expected in mid-November; Nvidia has not yet announced the date. Last year’s equivalent report was on 19 November.

Why Nvidia bounced, and why the bounce is fragile

Nvidia had no company news on Monday. It moved with the sector: Anthropic’s S-1 gave the market its clearest look at how fast revenue is growing at one of the biggest buyers of AI compute, and the semiconductor group rallied with it. Morning coverage on Tuesday showed Nvidia up almost 1 percent before the bell, with Broadcom and Micron up 2.4 percent (AP via KTAR). The SpaceX financing adds a second support: $40 billion of debt raised to buy GPUs arriving in 2027 is order visibility, whoever ends up as the named supplier.

The worries that knocked the stock from $239 to $211 in two and a half weeks are still there. FX Leaders lists them: Amazon reportedly has server racks waiting in warehouses because data centres lack power, ASML warned that 2027-2028 chipmaking capacity may not meet demand, a CoreWeave bond priced to yield about 15 percent, and Microsoft’s Maia 300 chip claims 40 percent more tokens per megawatt than leading GPU systems. Each is a different way of asking whether AI spending can keep growing at this pace and on these terms. The Fed’s two-day meeting started on Tuesday, and Microsoft, Alphabet and Amazon report this week; their capex guidance matters more to Nvidia than any chip news. Our AMD page covers the same setup for the second-largest AI chipmaker.
