Missouri Senator, Bob Onder, strongly refuted reports of book burning at a recent Springfield GOP event. While Onder did talk about historical book burnings, he said he was not referring to any specific event, but rather suggesting that he would like to torch what he deems “woke pornographic books.”
Onder emphasized that he does not condone book burning and is an advocate of the First Amendment. He released a statement saying, “I have always advocated for, and will continue to strongly advocate for, the preservation of our First Amendment right to freedom of speech. At no point did I suggest censorship of any kind.”
