On September 24, 2020, the House of Representatives passed a “clean” stopgap funding bill, which was approved by Congress and signed into law by President Donald Trump. This bill prevents a government shutdown by funding the federal government through December 11. The stopgap spending bill is designed to keep the government funded until a longer-term spending plan can be negotiated between the House, Senate, and White House. The bill passed in a 359-57 vote.
