MAGA-dominated state Republican parties plagued by infighting, money woes

and right-wing interference

In many states with a strong MAGA base, the Republican Party is facing unprecedented challenges, including infighting among party members, financial issues, and interference from right-wing organizations and individuals. Internal disputes have in some cases become public and acrimonious, while financial troubles are often due to the influx of money from outside organizations and individuals with narrow ideological objectives. Meanwhile, the right-wing has helped to advance a far-right agenda through gerrymandering of district boundaries, transforming formerly moderate state electorates into heavily conservative ones. In addition, some powerful right-wing donors and organizations have sought to influence state party infrastructure, often seeking to reduce the influence of moderates and centrists and move the party further to the right. In the face of these challenges, state Republican Party leaders have attempted to regain control by unifying the party around core principles such as fiscal responsibility, opposing excessive government spending, and promoting traditional values and beliefs.
