John Smith, a lawyer representing the plaintiff in a lawsuit against President Donald Trump, asked the presiding judge on Friday to block Trump from making “partisan political attacks” during the trial. Smith argued that it would be inappropriate for the President to use the courtroom to advance his political agenda.
The judge presiding over the case has yet to rule on the motion, but Smith’s team is hopeful that he will take their request into consideration and prevent Trump from bringing partisan politics into the courtroom.
