Disney and Charter reach deal to end cable blackout in time for ‘Monday Night Football’

Disney and Charter Communications have reached an agreement to end their long-running carriage dispute, which had led to a multi-day blackout of the ESPN network on some Charter-owned cable systems. The agreement will restore ESPN programming in time for the “Monday Night Football” broadcast of the Atlanta Falcons versus Seattle Seahawks, scheduled to begin at 8:15 p.m. EDT. The agreement also includes all of Disney’s cable networks, including ABC, Freeform, Disney Junior, Disney XD, and the SEC Network. No details of the agreement have been released.
