McDonald’s plans to eliminate self-service soda stations at all its restaurants

McDonald’s recently announced that it would be removing self-service soda stations from its restaurants in order to reduce customer contact amidst the COVID-19 pandemic. Customers will now be served soda either bottled or directly from the fountain by an employee, reducing the number of contact points between customers and soda machines. McDonald’s also announced that it will be introducing plexiglass shields at its restaurants and employee temperature checks.
