Delta Airlines has said that business travel has been dampened by both the Hollywood writers’ strike and the ongoing General Motors and Chrysler strike in the United States. Delta’s Chief Executive, Ed Bastian said that the strikes have affected both corporate and leisure travel and have had an impact on the airline’s bottom line. Delta has been offering reduced cost tickets to encourage travellers to fly despite the strike action.
