The raids were part of an investigation into alleged money laundering as a part of a contribution to terrorist activity, according to local media reports.

The raids reportedly took place on Thursday in Berlin, Hamburg, and the western German state of North Rhine-Westphalia.

Police conducted searches in seven properties, according to Der Spiegel magazine, including two homes in Berlin.

German media reported that the police were looking for evidence of money laundering for terrorist activities. However, there was no confirmation of whether any arrests were made or if any money was seized.

Hamas is a Palestinian political group with a strong militant element. It is considered a terrorist group by the United States and the European Union.

The pro-Palestinian groups targeted in the raids could not be identified.

The raids come amid a crackdown by the German government on what it calls “anti-Semitic and extremist organizations” in the country.
