Kirby’s remarks came during a press conference regarding the most recent conflict that erupted between Israel and Hamas. During the press conference, Kirby said, “We know that Hamas has continued to break cease-fire agreements, and that they are holding more women and children as human shields in Gaza — which further compounds and intensifies the threat they present to the people of Israel.” Kirby also noted that the U.S. condemned the use of human shields by Hamas and called for an immediate end to their use.
