India’s Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) is turning to blockchain technology to issue tamper-proof digital certificates to its members. The IEEE has partnered with blockchain firm Avalanche to develop a platform to create and issue certificates using blockchain technology.
Avalanche’s blockchain platform will create blockchain-based certificates and store them on a distributed ledger, providing a tamper-proof and immutable proof of the authenticity of the certificates. With the implementation of the platform, the IEEE will enable its members to securely prove the validity of their certificates by leveraging smart contracts on the Avalanche blockchain.
The IEEE Blockchain Certificate Platform will also provide the organization with a comprehensive system to track and manage certificates, and maintain a secure audit trail of all issuance, validations, and verifications conducted on the platform. This technology will help protect the integrity of certificates issued to IEEE members and will also ensure that any duplicate certificates issued are easily identifiable.
