CEO of pro-DeSantis super PAC resigns amid rising tensions

with the governor

In light of increasing tensions with Florida Governor Ron DeSantis, the CEO of the pro-DeSantis super PAC Turning Point USA has resigned. Anthony Pedicini, who served as the CEO of the organization, announced his resignation on Thursday, citing the disagreements between him and the governor’s office. Pedicini was critical of DeSantis’ handling of the coronavirus pandemic, which reportedly caused a rift between the two. In a statement, Pedicini said, “I remain committed to defending liberty-minded principles and defending the Governor’s record from unfair and false attacks. However, I cannot support any action that undermines the primary mission of Turning Point USA.” The group had supported many of the Governor’s initiatives, but disagreements over how to handle the pandemic split the two. It remains to be seen what the future holds for Turning Point USA and its involvement in Florida politics.
