Crypto ETF Flows Stabilize on August 11 as Bitcoin Returns…

US cryptocurrency exchange-traded fund flows stabilized on Tuesday, August 11, with spot Bitcoin ETFs recording approximately $4.89 million in net inflows, while spot Ether ETFs posted a modest $1.76 million net outflow.

The session represented a sharp improvement from Monday, when Bitcoin and Ethereum funds simultaneously suffered redemptions. Bitcoin ETFs lost approximately $144.6 million on August 10, while Ether ETFs recorded $14.6 million in outflows.

Tuesday’s data therefore suggest institutional demand did not deteriorate into another sustained wave of selling. Instead, Bitcoin returned marginally to positive flows, while Ethereum’s redemptions slowed dramatically.

The more interesting activity occurred beneath the headline numbers. BlackRock’s iShares Bitcoin Trust, IBIT, attracted approximately $50.19 million, while Franklin Templeton’s EZBC experienced roughly $16.46 million in withdrawals. Across the entire Bitcoin ETF complex, those opposing movements left the category with only $4.89 million of net new capital.

BlackRock Buyers Return as Bitcoin Flows Flip Positive

IBIT’s $50.19 million inflow was a notable reversal from the previous session. BlackRock’s fund had recorded approximately $53.6 million in withdrawals on August 10, making it the largest contributor to that day’s Bitcoin ETF outflow. Fidelity’s FBTC lost another $40.3 million, Bitwise’s BITB shed $28.4 million and Grayscale’s GBTC recorded $52 million of redemptions.

By Tuesday, IBIT had returned to accumulation. Its $50.19 million inflow lifted the fund’s cumulative net inflows to approximately $61.17 billion, reinforcing BlackRock’s dominant position in the US spot Bitcoin ETF market. The broader category held approximately $77.46 billion in net assets following the August 11 session.

The $4.89 million industry-wide inflow remains small compared with the approximately $854 million Bitcoin ETFs attracted during the August 3-7 week. But the quick return to positive territory matters because it suggests Monday’s $144.6 million redemption was not immediately followed by another broad institutional exit.

Bitcoin itself remained under pressure around the $64,000 region as investors reduced risk ahead of US inflation data. The crypto market’s total capitalization fell roughly 1% during the August 11 session, while Bitcoin and Ethereum both weakened.

ETF flows therefore showed greater resilience than spot prices might suggest.

Ether Stays Negative While Solana Attracts Fresh Capital

Ethereum presented a slightly weaker picture. US spot Ether ETFs recorded approximately $1.76 million in net outflows on August 11, marking a second consecutive negative session following Monday’s $14.6 million withdrawal.

Fund-level activity was limited. Farside data showed Fidelity’s FETH posting approximately $2.3 million of redemptions, while BlackRock’s ETHA attracted about $600,000. Other tracked Ether products recorded no net flow, leaving the category slightly negative overall.

Even so, the decline in selling pressure was substantial. Ether ETF outflows fell from $14.6 million on Monday to less than $2 million Tuesday. Solana provided a more clearly positive signal.

SoSoValue data showed US spot Solana ETFs attracting approximately $1.43 million on August 11, with the day’s net inflow attributed to Morgan Stanley’s MSOL. Cumulative Solana ETF inflows reached roughly $115.8 million, while net assets stood near $89.9 million.

The August 11 data also underline how uneven institutional demand has become across individual crypto assets. XRP ETFs, which accumulated substantial capital following their launch, have recently lost momentum. SoSoValue data cited in current reporting show the products went two consecutive sessions without fresh inflows, with only about $1.01 million entering during August so far.

Taken together, Tuesday’s flows show a crypto ETF market that is stabilizing rather than aggressively accumulating. Bitcoin returned to a $4.89 million inflow, led by $50.19 million into IBIT. Ethereum remained negative but lost only $1.76 million, dramatically less than the previous session. Solana added another $1.43 million, while XRP demand remained subdued.

The contrast with August 10 is important. A day earlier, approximately $159 million had exited Bitcoin and Ethereum ETFs combined. By Tuesday, their combined net flow was roughly positive $3 million.

That does not yet constitute a renewed institutional buying wave. But it does indicate that Monday’s sharp reversal has not developed into sustained ETF liquidation.

For the remainder of the week, the question is whether BlackRock’s renewed Bitcoin buying can pull the broader market back toward the stronger inflows recorded earlier in August—or whether Tuesday’s near-flat result proves to be only a temporary pause in institutional risk reduction.
