Currently, there is no indication of a second government shutdown in the near future. Due to the fact that Congress has until the middle of September to reach a budget deal and extend government funding, the possibility of a shutdown is unlikely in the coming months. However, if Congress fails to reach an agreement before the current funding lapses, the federal government may be forced to shut down once again.
